I found an old Amcap version here which does the job. So I bet the bandwidth at the highest setting is an issue, or there is a bug. Is it my USB speed? It only outputs 1280 x720, 640x480 and 320x240 mode at 30 fps MJPG 24. When I switch setting to 640x480 it is smooth and I get no frame-drops. One other thing, if I try to use my webcam in 1280x720 mode it is choppy and freezes up every few seconds for a while, and then recovers. The only annoying part is it puts up a time-stamp on the bottom of the image and I can't figure out how to remove it.

It is more than I need, but it does work with my camera and does full screen. I'm sure there is some old freeware sitting around somewhere that is a tiny stand-alone program. I may have to use Man圜am although it is quite bloated. AmCap is the only one that does it but it is not free. Same goes for Free2X Webcam recorder, which I just tried now. It enlarges the window but the webcam only takes up a small portion in the middle instead of stretching to expand to the window. The problem is, it doesn't go full-screen. I have tried the newer versions but they don't show it (don't know why?). Only version 1.0 works on my system with my plug-in webcam. There *must* be a simple program out there, I just haven't found it. These either have no full-screen option, or time-out after a certain time as they are not free, or are bloated and too feature-full. I've tried Webcamviewer and Amcap and Yawcam and man圜am. I have my laptop plugged in to an LCD projector and during my PowerPoint I want to be able to switch to the webcam program and show a live image of a webcam microscope I have with me at the podium that's plugged into my laptop as well. The reason I need this is for doing a presentation.
